Our dams and sires undergo DNA health testing through Embark, screening for over 250 genetic health conditions, including 20 breed-specific issues common to Labrador Retrievers such as PRA-prcd, EIC, CNM, HNPK, MCD, and Skeletal Dysplasia. Additionally, our Labs are screened by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA).

Our English Lab puppies come with a 28-month health warranty, which covers conditions like hip or elbow dysplasia, life-threatening heart defects, or puppies affected by any of the genetic disorders we are able to test for.

Behavior & Temperament

Temperament plays a key role in selecting dams and sires for our breeding program. Since our dogs are a cherished part of our daily lives, we carefully choose those with gentle temperaments and a natural aptitude for service work to become members of our family. Our Labrador puppies TN are raised around our children and farm animals, and are socialized with other children under our supervision.

We fell in love with the Fox Red Labrador years ago and have since chosen to focus primarily on breeding the darkest shade of yellow (Fox Red) in our Lab puppies TN. Temperament is a key factor in determining which dams and sires are included in our breeding program. Since each of our dogs plays an important role in our daily lives, we carefully select those with gentle dispositions and a natural ability for service work to join our family.

Our love for the Fox Red English Labrador began years ago. Their striking beauty, with their rich, deep red coat, robust athletic build, blocky head, broad chest, and dense, water-resistant coat, captivated us. We’ve chosen to focus primarily on breeding the darkest shade of yellow (Fox Red) in our Labrador puppies TN, though we occasionally have lighter yellow and black Lab puppies available.

Kid Socialized

We also provide crates for our puppies to sleep and spend time in, helping them form positive associations. Crate and potty training during their time with us ensures a smoother transition to your home and family!

We carefully choose our breeding dogs based on temperament, health, trainability, and appearance to ensure we produce happy, well-adjusted puppies. Our Fox Red Lab puppies TN are known for their calm, friendly nature, love of retrieving, and beautiful, dense coats. Occasionally, we also have litters with some American (field) lines for families who prefer a more energetic, athletic build.

Our puppies are exceptionally easy to train, with a strong desire to please and an ability to adapt quickly into their new homes. We believe this is because of our high-quality breeding lines and the personal care we give each of our English Lab puppies. Raised in our home and on our farm, they are surrounded by our family, children, and other animals. Our dogs and puppies are never kenneled in small pens or on unnatural surfaces. Instead, they run and play freely in large grass paddocks and around our fields and wooded areas of our farm.

At Escalante, our Lab puppies are born in our home, with us constantly supervising during the crucial early stages of their lives. We are with the dams (moms) throughout the birth, acting as the ‘midwives’—helping with delivery, cleaning and suctioning the puppies, reassuring the moms, offering food and high-calorie snacks, and staying in touch with our vet. If necessary, we transport both the mother and puppies to our wonderful local veterinarian at any time of day or night. Raising puppies is truly a labor of love, and not for the faint of heart.

Our “Puppy Palace” is a warm, comfortable space that’s heated and air-conditioned, ensuring a safe and cozy environment for our puppies as they grow. By the time they’re ready to join your family, they’re already familiar with using a dog door and have begun potty and crate training. We put in the effort to help them develop good habits early, making their transition to your home as smooth as possible. We feed our English Labrador Retrievers high-quality kibble, free from corn, wheat, or soy, to promote their optimal health. Our family is dedicated to raising loving, healthy puppies that will bring lasting joy and companionship to your family.
